Parrot Bebop 2 FPV Quadcopter Drone Review
Camera
The Parrot Bebop 2 FPV has a full HD 14MP camera with image stabilization, along with a fisheye lens. The fisheye lens is made to give the operator a much bigger field of vision, and provides fantastic exposure and clarity even in the dark. The camera angle is adjustable, which would allow users to capture even the most challenging shots.
The Parrot Bebop 2 is equipped with a fisheye lens capable of capturing 180° videos and images in outstanding quality. To be more specific, the camera records 1080p video and snaps 14MP (megapixel) still images. The video stabilizing 3-axis digital system allow the drone to capture perfectly smooth video regardless of the distance during flight. This camera works great with the included FPV goggles for a true VR (virtual reality) experience while flying!
Control
Controlling the drone is very easy, download the app on your smartphone or tablet, and sync it to your drone. The app is called FreeFlight which is available to download free on the iOS App Store, as well as Google Play.
Battery
The Parrot Bebop 2 features an improved battery life over the previous version of the Parrot Bebop Quadcopter drone which was around 12 to 13 minutes. The Parrot Bebop 2 features a higher battery capacity of 2700mAh for around 25 min flight time.
Transmitter
The sky remote controller for the Parrot Bebop 2 drone is extremely cool in appearance. However, if you don’t want to use the controller, you may still operate the drone with your smartphone making use of the FreeFlight app. We do recommend using the sky controller since it increases the range of the drone, as well as makes it much easier to control. You could adjust the responsiveness of the remote controller making use of the app, and also easily adjust the position of the camera. An additional great feature is that there is an LED indicator that gives you the signal strength between the drone and the controller.
Pros
- Very compact/portable design
- Durable construction
- A clear 14MP camera
- Flight time of 25 minutes
- Included FPV goggles for VR experience
Cons
- Controller is a bit larger than others
- Range is limited while controlling with smartphone or tablet
Conclusion
The drone has first-class features and with an excellent range of 300m. It is on the more expensive end, but we should be expecting this from a drone that offers 25 min flight time, along with a stabilized 14MP camera and FPV capabilities.
